Winter Pack Helps Dogs Through Harsh Winter
Orem, UTAH (ContentDesk) January 18, 2006 -- All dog owners know that winter can bring
on a whole new set of problems for the entire household, which can be more than exacerbated by an energetic dog in need of exercise. And when the dogs grow their luxuriant extra winter coats, they also receive that hidden boost of energy designed to give them the strength to see out cold winters. There are all sorts of problems that may arise with increased energy inside a confined space or porch or snow-blanketed back yard. Dogs need just as much exercise in winter as they do in summer. In fact, they are sometimes more energetic in the winter months.
And if left unattended for too long, they can become anxious, more aggressive and get into more playing with the furniture. Their coats can become matted and with the cold air outside, superheated air inside, their coats can become dry and brittle and you end up with one very unhappy doggy, says Adele Sims of www.woofywarehouse.com. And because we love dogs as much as we do, we want them and their owners to be as happy and comfortable as ever, even through harsh winters. That is why we came up with the Winter Pack that has special winter shampoos, moisturisers and detanglers. It also contains a rope tug toy to keep Fido amused and a complimentary brush. Keeping your dog fit and healthy even in the winter months will not only make your life easier, but your beloved pets life will be much happier too.
And just a warning to remember when you are out and about with your pet and theres a lot of snow around, the salt used to dry out the ice has a poisonous component should your dog lick it, so keep Fido well clear of it and if you have to use something on your own driveway, use the non-toxic variety. Also, winter plants like poinsettia have poisonous leaves and should be kept well clear of dogs who like to nibble on plants, Adele goes on to say. Winter can be a lot of fun for you and your dog, but Fido needs attention too. Adele Sims is the co-owner of www.woofywarehouse.com. Out of a love of dogs and their wonderful contribution to our lives, woofywarehouse was born - so that anyone could have access to all the products they could possibly need to enhance the lives of their dogs..

Dog Worms
Some dogs develop dog worms. What are these worms and what are the signs of infestation?
The main species of worms that dog owners have problems with are round worms and tapeworms. Round worms are common among puppies, and are a cause of headache for dog breeders. These worms are like common angleworms in size and shape but with a lighter color of white or pale pink.
In adult dogs, round worms can grow up to seven inches long and half in length and are thick as a white string in puppies. They live in the dog's small intestines and usually are coiled in masses that obstruct the stomach passage.
In dogs, it sometimes goes to the stomach or end up as bowels.
When one dog is infected with worms, millions of eggs will pass through that dog's feces. These can be found all over the floor, bedding, even in feeding and drinking pans. They can n go to the dog's coats and are licked off and swallowed, finding their way inside the dog's intestinal tract....

The Origins of Coats of Arms
Coats of arms, often known as family crests, appeared first in England in the early 1300s and quickly spread throughout Europe. The ?science' of heraldry was thus established with rules and terms.
Coats of arms were displayed on banners, tabards and, of course, shields. The term coat of arms was derived from the surcoat, a linen garment that was worn over the suit of armour when a nobleman, knight or landowner fought in battle. ?Surcoat' led to the term ?coat of arms'.
Although coats of arms were very decorative, they grew out of a need to identify who was who in battle. Landowners had their own small private armies and took their followers off to battle, particularly during the Crusades.
When battle was joined, the suit of armour completely covered the knight who was thus unidentifiable and risked an early form of ?friendly fire'! So, to enable their rabbles of followers to identify them and rally to their side, the knights stated to paint symbols...

Arabian Horse
The Arabian horse is an animal which has lived on the Arabian Peninsula for well over 2000 years. These horses were properly bred to demonstrate many traits which were attractive, such as strength, beauty, and endurance. Many experts on horses have concluded that Arabian horses are among the oldest breeds in the world.
The Bedouins were a nomadic people who are given credit for first taming the Arabian horse. The Bedouins made every effort to protect the purity of these horses, and many could trace back the lineage of the horses they owned. During this time, it was critical to have a horse which was strong, fast, and courageous.
It also had to be capable of surviving in the desert environment. The Bedouin tribes were constantly at war with other tribes in the region, and it was necessary to have a horse which could lead them into battle.
The Bedouins soon gained a reputation for breeding some of the most beautiful horses ever seen. Many people would...
